Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy explains personal information handling in connection with Dianelee.com.au (the “Site”). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the Site’s publisher, using the publishing name Dianelee.com.au.

For questions, access or correction requests, or complaints, use our Contact page and identify the message as a privacy matter.

1. Information you provide

When you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit, together with any other information you choose to include. Correspondence may also contain article URLs, correction details or information needed to handle a request.

If commenting is available and you submit a comment, the details entered and related moderation information may be processed. Your chosen display name and comment may be public. Do not put private information in a public comment.

Please avoid sending passwords, payment information, identity documents or sensitive personal information unless it is necessary and a suitable method has been agreed.

2. Technical and usage information

The Site and its service providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request times, pages requested, referring pages, error records and security information. Such data can be collected through server logs, cookies or similar technologies.

Depending on which features are active and your choices, information may also include cookie identifiers, approximate location and interactions with content or advertisements. Technical identifiers are not necessarily anonymous.

3. Why information is used

Information is used, as relevant, to:

  • Deliver the Site and maintain its operation and security.
  • Respond to enquiries, corrections, permission requests and privacy matters.
  • Manage comments and prevent spam or misuse.
  • Understand readership and improve content where analytics is enabled.
  • Display and measure advertising where advertising is enabled.
  • Meet applicable legal obligations and handle disputes.

An enquiry is not permission to add you to a marketing list. Where processing requires consent, visiting the Site alone is not that consent.

4. Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies can store preferences or help measure activity. Uses may include site functions and security, remembering privacy choices, analytics and advertising.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser. Some features may then work differently. Where a cookie or privacy settings control is available on the Site, you can use it to review or change the choices it manages.

Deleting cookies can also remove a stored opt-out preference. Browser controls, advertising preferences and consent controls may each affect different processing; using one does not necessarily disable all tracking.

5. Google advertising

Where the Site displays Google AdSense advertising, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies based on earlier visits to this or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies can support personalised ads across participating websites.

You can manage personalisation through Google’s advertising settings. Participating vendors also offer choices through YourAdChoices. These choices do not remove all advertisements.

See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s Privacy Policy.

6. Analytics and embedded content

If Google Analytics is enabled, it can measure page activity and process browser, device and cookie identifiers to produce readership statistics. Google’s data safeguarding information describes the service. A supported Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on is also available.

Embedded videos or other third-party content, where included, may process information when loaded or used. The relevant provider’s privacy policy applies to its processing.

Non-essential technologies that require consent must be subject to an appropriate choice before use. Refusing optional processing should not prevent access to ordinary editorial content.

Google requires a certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework for personalised ads served to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. That requirement concerns the actual advertising setup; this policy does not itself supply a consent control.

8. Sharing and overseas processing

We do not sell the personal information supplied in enquiries. Relevant information may be processed by service providers supporting hosting, communications, security, forms or comments. Analytics, advertising and embedded-content providers may process technical information as described above.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to address a legal claim or security incident, subject to applicable law.

Providers may process information outside Australia. Google operates services internationally, including in the United States. Other locations depend on the provider and service involved. You can contact us to request available information about providers handling a particular enquiry. Visiting the Site does not waive protections that apply to overseas disclosures.

9. Storage, retention and security

Enquiries and associated records may be stored in the systems used for website administration, form handling and correspondence. Technical information may be held in hosting or service-provider systems.

Our retention standard is to keep information only while needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including necessary record keeping, security, dispute handling and legal obligations. Retention varies by record type and provider. Information that is no longer required is to be deleted or de-identified where practicable and lawful.

Our information handling standard requires access to be limited to those who need it and reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Access, correction and other requests

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, or request deletion. The response depends on applicable law, the information we can identify and any legitimate retention requirements. Some records, including backups, may not be removable immediately.

Use our Contact page and provide enough detail to identify the interaction. We may ask for proportionate verification before disclosing a record. Please do not send identity documents with your initial request. If a request cannot be fulfilled, we will explain the relevant reason.

Additional rights may apply under laws relevant to your situation, including rights to object to or restrict processing. You may raise those requests through the same contact channel.

11. Privacy complaints

Identify your message as a Privacy complaint, explain what happened and describe the outcome you seek. We will review the matter and respond within a reasonable time, or explain why further investigation is needed.

Where the Australian Privacy Act applies, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner after first raising the issue with us. The OAIC explains its process and eligibility requirements. A different regulator may be relevant under other applicable laws.

12. Children and third-party websites

The Site is intended for a general automotive readership and does not invite children to provide personal information. If you believe a child has submitted personal information that should be removed, please contact us.

Links to manufacturers, dealers and other external websites lead to services with their own privacy practices. Read their policies before submitting information to them.

13. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when information handling or available services change. The date at the top identifies this version. An update does not replace consent where consent is required.
