Editorial and Publication Policy

Editorial and Publication Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy sets the standards for content published on Dianelee.com.au. Its purpose is to help readers distinguish sourced information, editorial interpretation and first-hand experience.

Purpose and accountability

We aim to help Australian readers understand Kia vehicles and the buying and ownership decisions associated with them. Articles use the byline displayed on the page. Responsibility for publication, source selection, editorial decisions and corrections remains with the publisher.

Research and sources

Our publication standard requires:

  • Manufacturer information for specifications, equipment and published warranty or servicing terms where available.
  • Australian market sources for Australian prices, variants and availability.
  • Clear identification of the model year, variant, powertrain and market relevant to a claim.
  • Source attribution and links that allow readers to check important information.
  • Original explanation rather than copying another publication’s wording.
  • Clear acknowledgement when a detail is unconfirmed or reliable sources disagree.

Other motoring publications can provide context. An opinion from another reviewer must be attributed to that reviewer and must not be presented as our own driving experience.

Types of articles

Model and buyer’s guides explain a range using published information. Comparisons examine differences on a stated basis, such as price, equipment, space or ownership requirements. Ownership explainers describe published conditions and practical questions to ask a provider.

An article describing first-hand testing must identify the vehicle and the nature of that experience. A title containing “review” does not establish that a road test took place. When no first-hand experience is identified, readers should treat the article as research-based commentary.

Prices and performance figures

Prices must be identified as recommended retail, before on-road costs, drive-away or another stated basis. Offers should include material conditions and dates where available. Australian articles use AUD unless another currency is expressly identified.

Fuel use, electric range, charging and performance figures must distinguish manufacturer or standardised test claims from independently measured results. Real-world estimates must explain their basis. Safety ratings should identify the rating source and relevant assessment context.

Overseas specifications must not be silently substituted for Australian equipment or availability.

Opinions and recommendations

Evaluations should explain the criteria behind them. A vehicle can be suitable for one buyer and unsuitable for another. Rankings and comparisons must avoid implying a universal best choice without a stated basis.

Uncertainty should be visible where it affects a purchasing decision. Articles must not invent ownership stories, test-drive accounts, qualifications or expert endorsements.

Editorial conclusions must not be purchased. Commercial relationships must be disclosed when relevant to a reader’s assessment of the content.

Sponsored content must be identified clearly. An article using affiliate links must explain the possibility of a commission near the relevant content. A supplied vehicle, product, trip or other material benefit must be disclosed in coverage related to that benefit.

The presence of an advertisement does not mean the publisher recommends the advertiser, its products or its terms.

Writing and research tools

Software, including automated or AI-assisted tools, may support drafting, organisation or checking. Tool output is not evidence that a claim is correct. Our publication standard requires important figures and claims to be checked against appropriate sources before publication.

Tools must not be used to fabricate experience, citations or expertise. The publisher remains responsible for the final text. Material use of a generated or altered visual must be disclosed where readers could otherwise mistake it for documentary evidence.

Updates and corrections

An update date should represent a substantive review or change, rather than a cosmetic date refresh. Information affecting a buying decision should be revisited when new reliable information becomes available.

Report a possible error through our Contact page, including the article URL and supporting source. Confirmed errors should be corrected promptly. Significant corrections should include a visible note explaining what changed; minor spelling or formatting edits may be made without a separate note.

Images and comments

Images and other assets require an appropriate right to use them and any necessary attribution. Stock, manufacturer-supplied or generated images must not be represented as photographs taken during a test we did not conduct.

Where comments are available, relevant and respectful discussion is welcome. Spam, personal information, unlawful material and abusive or misleading comments may be removed. A reader’s comment is not a verified editorial claim.
